The aims of the Clinical Translational Core are as follows:
- To provide consultative services (pre-project implementation) with study design and implementation, cohort, feasibility, statistical considerations. To provide similar consultative services for grant preparation. In both cases with attention to providing this guidance at reduced cost for junior investigators, K grants, and first time R01 applications. To work in a coordinated fashion with other cores to optimize study design.
-
To help IDDRC member investigators implement state of the art and cost efficient clinical data acquisition, including specifying optimal clinical protocols, both to address the range of high and lower functioning participants, along with tools to enhance data acquisition for a full range of ages and socio-economic backgrounds.
-
To conduct educational seminars in neuroimaging and to facilitate collaborative interactions with investigators with technical strengths outside of neurocognitive assessments. To conduct "speed dating" amongst clinically focused IDDRC investigators to promote novel collaborations and to alert investigators to the full range of projects within and outside of the the IDDRC.
-
To advance the implementation of novel approaches to clinical assessments, along with new technologies such as wearables to enhace real-life evaluations of participants.
